About ConXport Freezing Microtome

Freezing Microtome is designed to the full purpose ofaccurate and quick diagnosis in surgery and also for the inspection of qualityof rubbes and others. It has a table clamping device. The specimen risesaccurately and automatically by a handle. The CO2 freezing attachment isprovided with a hard rubber non-conducting plate between the corrugated surfaceto which the object is frozen and the rest of the apparatus, which prevents theconduction of heat from the other parts of the apparatus to the specimen; thussaving time and CO2.

In operating this freezing attachment thevalve at the bottom should first be closed and valve at the cylinder slightlyopened to admit the gas into the tube.
The Automatic feed mechanism can be thrown out of action by turning the IndexFinger to the extreme left or it may be set to cut sections of any desiredthickness. Each division of the graduated scale marks 5 m, the Microtome rangebeing 5-40 m. The sturdy Knife Holder can be tilted to a convenient angle ofthe Knife suitable to the object.

FAQs of ConXport Freezing Microtome:

Q: How does the ConXport Freezing Microtome achieve precise section thicknesses?

A: The microtome uses a mechanical handwheel combined with a micrometric adjustment system, allowing users to select and maintain section thicknesses between 2 and 30 microns. The analog mechanical scale ensures accuracy for reproducible results.

Q: What is the process for preparing specimens with this microtome?

A: Samples are placed in the clamp-type removable specimen holder and rapidly frozen on the integrated freezing plate (down to -35C). Once secured and frozen, the smooth manual handwheel allows for consistent, fine slicing of the specimen.

Q: When is this device typically used in the laboratory workflow?

A: The ConXport Freezing Microtome is utilized during the histological processing stage, specifically when thin frozen tissue sections are needed for microscopic examination, rapid diagnostics, or specialized research protocols.

Q: Where is the freezing capability integrated within the microtome?

A: The instrument features an integrated freezing stage and freezing plate built directly onto the bench-top unit. This provides fast and reliable freezing of biological samples right where they are sectioned, improving workflow efficiency.

Q: What accessories come included with this freezing microtome?

A: Each unit is supplied with a knife and handle, integrated freezing stage, brush, and a dust cover. These accessories support sample preparation and maintenance of the instrument.

Q: How does using this microtome benefit laboratory personnel and results?

A: The manual operation and rapid freezing mechanism enable quick, energy-independent sectioning. This ensures high accuracy, facilitates rapid diagnostics, and eliminates dependence on electricity, making it especially useful in varied laboratory settings.
